Down with Toxic Sonae
Sonae Danger. Get rid of Toxic Sonae

Toxic Sonae

Chimney stops for some unknown reason!

The Toxic Sonae chimney has been thankfully but mysteriously halted in its 24/7 task of polluting the nearby residents of Northwood Kirkby. The chimney seems to have stopped shortly after this website released footage of pollution at a worse level than we have seen here. Now the Chimney seems to have stopped, why is this?, why are we always the last to know anything? Sorry, i forgot, were just the mugs who live here.

Chimney stops but Dust mountain grows by the Day

Sonae 12th of aug 2002. Sonae chimney seems to have stopped for a week.

The picture below shows the Sonae Dust Mountain which has grown to a scale which is ridiculous. The mountain is so big now, that the men employed to hose the mountains, are not preventing dust from escaping into the community, which means our lungs. The danger of fire is a Hazard which surely must be closely watched by the fire service. Sonae should be charged for this, not local taxpayers.

Shut them Down!

There's some hard people in Kirkby, most of us are survivors here, but so far the fight against Sonae has reached wimp like proportions, a bit of finger wagging and the usual GUTLESS reactions from local MP's. Howarth couldn't give a monkeys about this one. We need to ask ourselves whether or not Kirkby is worth fighting for, do we sit by and watch our parents and grand parents lose a few precious years off their lives because they are dying of lung cancer caused by the pollution of Sonae and many others? Don't think it's not happening. Kirkby has a reputation for being hard, but if Sonae continues to spew out its toxic pollution,we are far from 'hard'. As a community we are at present weak. This weakness has been recognised by our Council and every Big Business which bullies its way to another slice of our land. A weak community with a weak opposition is a push over. Wake up Kirkby, we ain't hard, were becoming a bunch of wimp's when it comes to fighting the powers that be. Thanks once again to Jim Keight and the rest of Knowsley Council and especially the planning committee who rubber stamped Sonae, plus the Liverpool FC academy. Not forgetting of course the man who was behind all these mad cap plans, David Henshaw, who was later head hunted to run Liverpool City Council. Before he left he set in motion plans which were to be controversial and detrimental to the health and well being of the local community.
