Another day, another few particles of pollution settle in the lungs of Kirkby's residents. Sonae say the chimney pumps out 'Steam' check the video of this steam below

Locals polluted again. What the HELL is going on?

The Sonae Factory's chimney has often been spotted pumping out a dark grey to black smoke, something which would be impossible if the smoke was simply 'steam' as the management of Sonae told us it was. Who has ever seen a kettle put out black steam?, or steam any colour than a white? However, on Sept the 23rd 2002, we were lucky to be able to photograph this black smoke. Lucky because it seems Sonae like to reserve their peak levels of pollution output for the evening. Its easier to pump out the dark smoke in the night, locals cannot see it so much, although we can certainly smell it. Look at the photo below and see if it looks like steam.

On the day we photographed the Sonae pollution, we saw a Lorry which looked like it had spilled some of its load inside the Sonae factory.This can be very dangerous as the Lorry in question here was one with canvas sides. Lets hope this incident was reported in the Accident book or incident book. no news of the lad injured in the factory Explosion so far. If anyone knows, please email in. We bet he'll be speaking to a solicitor. Just like a lot of Kirkby's residents are.
