Knowsley Housing Trust
released a video before the Housing up here was handed over to them. The video
showed how it was going to be once the Trust got control of the Housing stock
here and it was posted out to all Knowsley Councils tenants. Kirkby Times has
also released a video. We have given a link below so the video can be
downloaded to view right away, or 'right clicked and saved as' so you
can save the video.

Service Charges?
The video was taken in a Tower Block, still occupied by tenants,
but the actual conditions are so bad that it could in all truth be
said to be uninhabitable. Knowsley Housing Trust charges £52 a week
for rent and 'service charges'. What services exactly we are being
charged for is a mystery to tenants and the Housing Trust themselves
who will inform neither myself nor local councilors as to why there
is a service charge. The service charges don't include cleaning up racist graffiti, check out the graffiti below. It will have been up for 2 years next year.
Jail the Architects
Rumours abound that the Tower Blocks in which the Video was shot will be
ordering tenants to move out by March. The Housing Trust are happy to charge
for rent till whenever they decide to inform tenants that their homes will be
likely demolished. Eventually, all the Tower Blocks in Kirkby will be demolished;
it's just a pity we cannot put the architects in there for a few months to let them
see what an almighty mess they have created. The people who built Hi Rise blocks
should be dragged screaming from whatever luxury house they occupy and be made
to compensate every last Working Class Person who has had to live in the hell
of a Tower Block.
OAP's victimised
It would also be beneficial to tenants if the Housing Trust Management spent a few weeks here living in
the slums they are happy to rent out to us. As we reported, the housing Trust are actually sending threatening
letters to tenants.
We can report further that there have been a LOT of letters sent out claiming people owe rent arrears, this
is possibly due to a fault with new software the Council installed, either way, sending out a letter 2 weeks before Christmas telling pensioners they owe
a couple of hundred quid is a damn disgrace. Kirkby Times wishes those responsible the very worse for Christmas. All the best to the ordinary workers who know the management are full of it.
