The long suffering tenants of Oak, Cedar, Maple and Larch Towers can kiss goodbye to any hopes of the New Housing Trust funding long needed repairs and improvements.There is no money allocated out of the £300 Million given to 'Knowsley Housing Trust' Any Tenants and Former Tenants of these Tower blocks may well be entitled to compensation.

After a visit and discussion with 2 Housing officer's i was told that the best option was to move from Oak Tower. A list of written questions will be sent to the Housing Officer in Question although to be fair the Officers who visited me seemed fairly ok. However, months later the Housing Trust have neglected to make good on promises. The allocation of no funds to repair and upgrade the Towers Blocks has come about after the Council messed about for years with all sorts of half hatched plans. Hundreds of thousands of Pounds have been wasted yet ALL of this would have been prevented had a decent caretaker been employed. Instead, the flats are left abandoned by the Council, now the Housing Trust and this causes untold misery to tenants. I was shocked to hear that the block of towers i live in has not had a live in caretaker for at least 2 years! No Caretaker will live in the Block,yet the tenants, many of whom were elderly, are left to live alone unprotected in appalling conditions. It is a situation which has been left to go unchecked and it really has been a nightmare for the decent tenants who have had to suffer the consequences of beaurocratic incompetence.

Everything is being turned over to the private sector, nothing is sacred anymore, not the NHS, our Schools and as we have seen here our Housing. Call this what you will but the fact is that Knowsley Council acted in a very under hand way to ensure this vote went through. We were deluged with leaflets and The laughable Glossy Newspaper 'Your Home', all very slick and predictable. The people employed to bulldoze the privatisation through even went so far as to post a video to each address which was eligible to vote.The amount of propaganda for the sell off was amazing given it was paid for out of public funds. The Council was so obviously biased in the material it put out, it was undemocratic and unprincipled, but thats Knowsley Council all over. Truth is the Council wanted this from the start.
