Liverpool FC
are involved in a disturbing partnership which is featured on the
Sun newspapers Website. The partnership involves the setting up
of an online store, where the Sun sell a lot of official Liverpool
merchandise including football shirts and kits. There is also a direct
link from the Sun Newspaper to the Liverpool FC Website.
Pressure from Hillsborough Campaigners
The partnership may well be short lived if Hillsborough Campaigners make
it an issue, which they almost certainly will. Kirkby Times will be supporting
any moves to persuade Liverpool FC to ask the Sun to remove the Liverpool
Merchandise, and to remove the active link to the Liverpool FC website.

Everton FC on Scum Website
Unfortunately, Everton merchandise is also being sold on the Scum website.
Everton FC have always been supportive of the Hillsborough Campaign, and
the attack on Liverpool fans was an attack on all Scousers. The media
have long helped to knock Liverpool as a City, and all of its residents,
regardless of what loyalties we have supporting football. The Sun
Newspapers thinly disguised hatred of the Working Class was
exposed enough in 1989 to forever tarnish their already tarnished reputation.
Merseyside itching to get at Murdoch
The Sun were involved in the UK's most despicable tabloid accusations when
they accused Liverpool Fans of causing the Hillsborough football Disaster.
The accusations at the time caused Merseyside to turn on the newspaper;
sales fell dramatically throughout Merseyside, with many shops refusing
to sell the paper. Unfortunately it is now openly being sold again,
although we may see a further decline in the papers fortunes as the
coming year brings the Sun into conflict with various Unions who are
planning to get more militant. The continuing ban in Knowsley's and
Merseyside's Libraries, colleges and schools may well be extended
to Millions of trade Unionists if moves are made to make the Sun a
political issue once again. There are still enough people on Merseyside
just itching for a chance to have a go at Murdoch.
