Liverpool FC threaten to close parts of Kop!
Liverpool FC have issued a threat to Kopites through the local media, warning fans to remain seated at matches.
There has been a dispute between fans who want to stand and the authorities who want them to remain seated.
Many fans believe the order to sit is a petty rule which fails to take in the reality of watching a football game.
Anfield Stadium manager Ged Poynton admitted that "there is a problem which goes back to the introduction of all seater stadiums".

The real villains behind these bullying tactics are the Beaurocrats who run British Football and the politicians. The faceless men in grey suits who USED Hillsborough to
bring in the All Seater stadiums, done so not out of concern for the fans, but out of concern for their own bank accounts.
The terraces were an easy target to blame for Hillsborough, they couldn't answer back, unlike the South Yorkshire police, Sheffield Wednesday and the Football Association. Football is a Working class tradition, part of our culture
which generations of us built over the years. The KOP, once a part of that culture,is slowly being turned into a place where Working Class people are not wanted.
The FA admitted in a report in the 90's that it needed to attract more middle classes to the game. One clear way of doing this was the all seater move, then the price rises which
have shot WAY above the rate of inflation. Now we see the very essence of the KOP, the fans who stand and sing being forced to give up, in one fell swoop, decades of tradition!
Standing is against the law!
Ged Poynton stated in a local newspaper that "We(meaning LFC) have no intention of sending in the heavy mob", this must be reference to Merseyside Police maybe
pouring into the KOP to arrest fans. More likely they will maybe use CCTV footage to try and ban individuals.
In a pathetic attempt to persuade fans to sit down, Poynton states "people may want to stand, but to use an analogy, there's nothing i would like more
than to drive my car at 90mph, but i can't. Its against the law. So is persistent standing in the football stadium"
Poyntons statement is a disgrace to compare driving recklessly at 90 mph to standing at a football ground.
The consequences of standing at a football ground will NOT endanger peoples lives. Kirkby times suggests that Poynton is closely watched by Merseysides traffic Police, after all, there's nothing he'd
like more to do than drive at dangerous speeds. Poynton goes on to stress " standing persistently at Football Stadiums is against the law",
there is even a threat to close down the Kop in a "worse case scenario"
Football being destroyed by commercialisation and the Middle Classes.
The game as we know it has changed almost beyond recognition. After Hillsborough the Fans who wanted to keep some terracing were ridiculed and somehow Hillsborough was used as an excuse to rip down the heart and soul of all our clubs: the terraces.
Even when the kop was packed like sardines NO-ONE WAS KILLED. To suggest that people standing on the vastly reduced capacity of today's 'Kop' are endangering anyone is just pathetic.
It would however, be very difficult to evacuate the KOP as it is today, as the plastic seats make it extremely difficult for any great numbers to
quickly and safely leave the stadium.
BRING BACK THE TERRACES.
The solution to this is simple, we need to see the return of some terracing to football grounds. The terracing would need to be reduced from the size it used to be, but it could be done safely
and i am sure that the atmosphere would increase. There are some who will once again point to Hillsborough, but the 96 were killed by people, not concrete.
No-one suggested shutting down stands after Bradford. we simply made sure no fire risks were possible. After Hillsbrough, we should have looked at making terraces safer, but there were too many people making millions from the building Contracts.
Lord Taylor himself in his Hillsborough report suggested making standing areas safer, BUT, that part was ignored and thats why British Fans have to sit whilst their European counterparts can still stand. The law in the UK is a JOKE and
now Kopites are to be treated like criminals for simply doing what reds have done for decades! This slap in the face to Working class Tradition is one in a series of vicious
draconian laws bought in which further crinimalises football fans. If any Reds are arrested for standing at the KOP, then the old adage of ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL' should apply.
This issue is about an increasing atmosphere of intrusion by the establishment in ALL aspects of our lives. The LAW is a bloody nuisence, it victimises people doing no harm,
its even spread its tentacles onto the KOP and it MUST BE STOPPED!
