Kilfoyle Dealing with Journalistic Lowlife
Below, Trevor Hicks and Peter Kilfoyle, both fans of the Sun
The following article will not please some on Merseyside, but its the Truth and
as such we have a duty to publish it. We all know any MP is by definition untrustworthy and
a hypocrite, but it is also very hypocritical for Trevor Hicks to talk about not dealing with the Sun. Read on.
Peter Kilfoyle Deals with Sun Newspaper
Walton MP Peter Kilfoyle was in the papers recently as his dealings with the Sun newspaper were exposed and commented upon in the local media.
Heres what the Echo had to say...........
MP in ticket row Jun 11 2002
Liverpool Echo
A LIVERPOOL MP has been branded a hypocrite after accepting free rugby tickets from the bosses of the Sun newspaper.
Peter Kilfoyle, MP for Walton, led the condemnation of the Rupert Murdoch-owned paper for its coverage of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.
But last November Mr Kilfoyle, whose constituency includes Anfield, accepted a complimentary ticket for the England versus Australia rugby union international at Twickenham from the media mogul's firm, News International.
Today the Hillsborough family support group said it was "sickened" by Mr Kilfoyle's actions.
Vice-chairman Phil Hammond, whose son Philip, 14, was crushed to death along with another 95 Liverpool FC fans during the tragedy, said: "He is being very hypocritical.
"The people of Merseyside won't want to know him if he is taking freebies off that newspaper.
"It is terrible, I'm sickened.
"We would like him to apologise to the Hillsborough victims and to stop taking any more freebies off the Sun."
Chairman Trevor Hicks, who also lost both his teenage daughters in the disaster, added: "We are very surprised that a man of his moral standing would get involved with that organisation."
In a debate in the House of Commons in December 1996 Mr Kilfoyle described the Sun's coverage as "infamous."
In a front page story in the aftermath of the tragedy the newspaper claimed Liverpool fans picked the pockets of victims and urinated and beat up police officers trying to save lives.
He said: "The low point must have been the infamous report of that terrible day in the Sun.
"Even by its grub street standards it reached an abysmal low."
But according to the latest register of MP's interests, Mr Kilfoyle attended the rugby match on November 10 last year courtesy of News International, the media firm which owns the Sun.
Today he admitted that he accepted a free Twickenham ticket simply because of constituency connections.
The former defence minister agreed that he had been severely critical of News International newspapers, particularly the Sun, in the past.
But he added: "Les Hinton, a senior executive of News International, was born and raised in Walton. He invited me to the game and I went. I don't want to say anything else about it."
Kirkby Times Says
Thats what the Echo had to say, but like all newspapers the truth is not quite as simple as they'd like to make out it is. We agree 100% that Kilfoyle is a two faced hypocrite and we hope a mob descends upon his surgery to kick him out of Town for this one.
Kilfoyle was one of the most vocal of the MP's up here slagging off the Sun Newspaper for its Hillsborough stories,
looks like it was an act designed to win him favour. Its about time we woke up to these Labourites because they are not for the Working Classes ,
which is why this scumbag was getting wined and dined by News International.
Just as bad in a way are the words by Trevor Hicks who said "we are surprised that a man of his standing would get involved with such an organisation"
Trevor Hicks along with Phil Hammond were actually at a meeting with the Sun Newspaper held of all places, at Anfield. The meeting took place on Mon 14th April, 97 or 98 and those attending were: Paul Ridley and Mike Ellis representing the Sun,
Trevor Hicks and Phil Hammond representing, as far as we know, themselves and not the Hillsborough Families Support Group. Also
present were Roy Evans and Peter Robinson of Liverpool FC.
We can report that Trevor Hicks, far from condemning the Sun, was quoted as saying" Any dealings with the Sun has only one motive, to further the campaign for Justice."
A lot of people up here were disgusted to hear that Hicks "may have talked sums of money" with the gutter rag which any true Scouser Will NEVER FORGIVE.Is this the same Trevor Hicks who was recently quoted as saying "We are surprised to hear a man of his moral standing(peter kilfoyle) had become involved with such an organisation"
Likewise Phil Hammond's accusation that Kilfoyle was "hypocritical" seems to be hypocritical in itself given that both Hicks and Hammond were prepared to do a deal with the Sun. We heared the Sun offered £96'000, amybe Mr Hicks or Mr Hammond may like to explain what they were doing and what was discussed.
Meanwhile, we were told by a bereaved father John Glover of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign that he would
not deal with the Sun ever and that "Myself and many others on Merseyside will never ever dream of dealing with the Sun, not for no amount of money. They said some terrible things about Hillsborough
blaming the fans when we all know the fans done the best to save lives"
Kirkby Times would like at this point to express our utter contempt of everything the Sun Newspaper stands for.
We find it amazing that Two Hillsborough Fathers can both condemn the Sun yet were prepared to meet them and far worse if reports are right. We believe that
the Sun is desperate to get back into Merseyside, and we want at this point to remind all Scousers what the Sun said back in 1989.
The below picture is the front cover of the Scum Gutter rag published 4 days after the Disaster.
The Paper is pictured, appropriately in a Gutter. We hope Murdoch and ALL who work for this Gutter rag ROT IN HELL.
We wish all the worse of Luck to all the Journalistic Filth who write utter sh**
BOYCOTT THE SUN
JUSTICE FOR ALL THE HILLSBOROUGH SURVIVORS
KEEP THE SUN(SCUM) OUT OF LIVERPOOL
Kirkby Times will be continuing to push for Kirkby to eventually KICK THE NEWS INTERNATIONAL FACTORY OUT OF OUR TOWN!
we would like to remind Knowsley Council to continue to boycott the Sun Newspaper in our Libraries,we know you are terrified of upsetting News International, but we will do our very best
to make sure we rubbish the place which is a LIE FACTORY.We say once again, Murdoch is Scum, News International are Lowlife and anyone still reading that paper in Kirkby, and news agents who sell it, should be ashamed of themselves.
Avoid the Scum Gutter Rag.
Don't mis-educate yourself
