Car Set Alight in Driveway
A car was set
alight in Northwood, Kirkby on December 20th. Nothing unusual in that, but what
was unusual in this case was the fact that the car was parked in a front garden.
The cars window was smashed and then the car itself set alight. The car was
parked only feet away from the front door of a house, the people who done this
are likely kids who have been involved in a number of incidents including
setting fire to people's wheelie bins.
Danger to the Community
The danger involved in the car being set alight was pretty serious
and the car actually exploded causing a pensioner great distress.
Had the occupant of the house opened the door to investigate, the lowlife
who done this could well have been facing a murder charge. The people who
are prepared to set light to a car parked in a driveway are a danger to the
community at large and if caught should be given a custodial sentence which
may give them time to reflect on the consequences of their actions. A lifetime
ban on driving would also be a good deterrent for these people.
Local Firemen Sick of it.
The number of incidents of arson on cars here is appalling. You can understand
the odd serious robber torching a car for reasons relating to forensics, or the
odd insurance caper, but most of these cars are torched by kids, who just think
it's a good idea. The local Firemen are sick to death of it. They spend a lot of
time having to put out the car fires and it endangers the rest of us due to lack
of cover. Malicious Car fires were responsible for about 21 deaths and 122 serious
injuries in 1996 and cost some £77,000,000 to clear up. The Govt estimates speak of
some 20 deaths per year due to attacks like the one witnessed recently in Kirkby.
Lowlife robbing off their Own
A lot of the cars stolen are stolen from ordinary working class residents.
What sort of lowlife robs off their own people? Most people here spend a lot of time
and trouble keeping a car on the Road, a lot of us need a car due to the appalling public
transport here. Bet your life that the same scallys who torched the car would be shouting
their heads off if at some point they get a car robbed or torched.
Putting the pedal to the metal in the streets of Kirkby is wrong.
Setting fire to cars in driveways is wrong.
Robbing off your own is wrong.
