On the 25th of Sept approx 9.00pm, a young girl was found unconscious outside Oak Towers. Luckily the incident was not serious,if it was, the girl would have been dead.A horse and cart would have been quicker.

This incident turned out to be ok.The girl had likely had too much to drink but the people who found her could not be sure what had led her to be unconscious. She looked in a pretty bad way and the person who first found her treated the case as if it was life threatening. However, despite the 999 operator being informed as to the seriousness of the situation, a half hour wait ensued before the ambulance turned up. A thanks goes to the Nurse who so kindly stopped to offer assistance.Kirkby Times is not blaming the local ambulance drivers who have a hard job. The Government are to blame for under funding the Ambulance Service. Had this incident described here been serious, then the person would have died on the pavement outside Oak Towers.

Lets not kid ourselves that there isn't a two tier health system. If your working class your going to be waiting on a trolley in a coridoor whilst those in private health schemes are being discharged.New Labour betrayed us by selling off the NHS to any old cowboy who can make a buck out of our misfortune. Kirkby's Labourites should be ashamed for holding a membership card to a party which has in effect declared War on the Working Classes. A party that would let us die like a dog in the gutter by cutting vital Health services. Don't believe them when they tell you we have nothing to fight for. Were fighting for our very lives. If we do nothing now, we may well regret it as one of our loved ones is killed by a 999 call.
