Apology?

Sun goes down over Liverpool today 07 July 2004

The Scum's Sick Excuse Of An 'Apology'

Today, the gutter rag Scum 'news' paper (The S*n) printed a pathetic 'apology' which was meant to be seen as way of apologising for the despicable comments made regarding the Hillsborough Football Disaster 15 years ago. On the local radio phone in show, Radio Merseyside's Roger Phillips show gave the Scums current assistant editor, Graham Dudman, the opportunity to say 'sorry'. He said the word, repeatedly, over 100 times. But the 100th apology sounded as hollow and false as the first one. Dudman, the assistant editor at the countries arse end of intellectual offerings, was in part responding to both the Wayne Rooney situation, and with regards to a pathetic so called 'apology' which was printed in today's issue of the Scum. (07, July 2004) The apology, unlike the original front page screaming headline 'The Truth' in 1989, appeared tucked away on page 8. But upon reading it (grabbed off the Scum website) it became clear that this was simply part of the Scums continuing campaign of propaganda to worm there way back here on Merseyside. Worse still, they have used Rooney to do so and have also implied that there was almost a Scouse hate mob in waiting. It is likely the Scum knew well in advance the predicted course of events which would unfold.

"ONE OWES RESPECT TO THE LIVING. TO THE DEAD ONE OWES ONLY THE TRUTH" Voltaire. (found in Liverpool fanzine Through The Wind And Rain, a far superior read than the Scum)

The following quote[s] from the Scum below, and others in this article are taken from the Scum's 'apology' regarding Hillsborough and the vicious lies they printed 15 years ago, lies which formed the basis for a campaign of black propaganda used to smear the fans and survivors. Those who died were victims of the yobs according to the popular opinion deliberately planted at the time. The bitterness in the few sentences from the Scum is clear to see. It's not an apology; it is another dig at Liverpool. They'll never learn. Here's the evidence.

"Sadly, for some people in the city of Liverpool, forgetting, never mind forgiving, is impossible. If they want to hate The Sun, then that is their right. We are hardly in a position to blame them. What we find impossible to take, though, is the way some of Liverpool is turning its anger on one of the greatest footballing talents the city has ever seen." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

Rooney used as a Shield

from the scum

"And The Sun of 2004 no more deserves to be hated on Merseyside than Wayne Rooney does." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

The Scum are now using Wayne Rooney as a shield to hide behind whilst they issue an apology. They set Wayne up to get the predicted response, and then try to compare the so called 'hatred' of Rooney to the REAL hatred which the Scum does deserve. The slime of 'News' International, knew that by offering Wayne a high profile contract, it would enrage Merseyside and now they are trying to say 'Look, the Scousers are attacking poor young Wayne Rooney, just like they are attacking us.' It is psychology at work here. The dirty basta**s are even snarling at those of us who will not forget nor forgive the Scum. Who are they to criticise us for what we think? The Scum is a rag which has systematically insulted the entire City of Liverpool, plus dipped its poison pen in the ink to, at various points in its life, slag off the Miners, Working Class people, Blacks, Asians, Gays, Unions, Irish, Mentally Ill People, Refugees and many many more sections of society and individuals besides. Even Frank Bruno was recently tore to bits as he tried to get over an episode of genuine mental illness. The Scum has little right to tell anyone what to think. God help us if a generation of young Scousers walk around with the contents of Murdoch's dodgy little rags cluttering up there thought processes too much.

John Glover.

Unlike the journalistic poison pen scribes from the Scum, I've had the pleasure of being in the company a few times with John Glover. John is a bereaved Hillsborough Father, and a man who was one of the founder members of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign. John, and his wife Teresa and the family and friends of the family, also suffered the added tragedy of seeing their son Joe, a Hillsborough survivor, lose his life in a tragic accident a few years back. I was angry to see this mans name used by the Scum gutter rag. I'm pretty sure John himself would be disgusted. This is what the Scum had to say….

"We do not condemn the outspoken words of men like John Glover, whose son died in the tragedy, for his loss entitles him to hold any opinion he wishes." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

Murdochs Poison Chalice

So the Scum do not condemn John Glover, well, thanks very much Mr Murdoch for your kindness. The Scum make out like they are 'approving' of Johns 'outspokenness' only because John Glover is a bereaved father. What they are implying is that the survivors or the thousands who saw Hillsborough unfold at the ground or on TV, have opinions which don't even come near to being taken seriously. Only bereaved relatives and loved ones who were close to someone who died have the right to speak out. Not once in the sick excuse for an 'apology' do the thousands of survivors get a mention, nor those who witnesses the horror. The Scum go on to give the following ticking off to the rest of Liverpool and Everton fans who may have expressed a less than positive opinion about Wayne.

"But the words of other fans leave us in despair." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

So the fans criticising Rooney who never lost anyone at Hillsborough are, by the Scums own definition, not really allowed an opinion. What about Scousers who are not football fans? Do we have even less of a right to an opinion?

The Scum attack Liverpool Websites.

The Scums 'apology' makes reference to the sick journalists there actually reading something decent to balance the content of there festering little minds. It seems that comments made on 'Liverpool websites' are being quoted. The only websites really having a real good old working class style 'pop' at Wayne are Kirkby Times and the Fanzine and football websites, but the Scum will NOT name the 'Liverpool websites' making the comments quoted below. It's a sad state of affairs when we have so few local websites in Liverpool telling it like it is, but that will change. Online forums based here will also have expressed similar sentiments. This is what the Scum had to say about 'Liverpool websites'.....

"One view on a Liverpool website is that by telling his life story in The Sun, Wayne has "signed his soul away to the devil. Another is that he has "accepted 30 pieces of silver."

Smokescreen Journalism

Kirkby Times stands by our comments for now, and the Scum, who knew full well what the reaction to Wayne's contract would be, will not fool us Scousers by trying to compare our 'hatred' of Wayne Rooney to our real hatred for the Scum. It's a smokescreen. Don't be fooled. The real enemy is the Scum, not the 18 yr old sucker who fell for the smarmy charms and shift southern fake sincerity. He is not the first 18yr old to make a monumental f**k up, and he won't be the last. At least he can make amends. The Scum, as shown by there throw-away 'apology', cannot.

Scum hide behind Rooney

The Scum are cleverly using the shield of Rooney to hide behind, this may fool some, but us Scousers are cleverer. We do not hate an 18 yr old who has likely as not shed tears over this episode. (We often have tears before we make up here) But the door is open for Wayne Rooney, Kirkby Times has nothing to do with this, but this website has its finger on the pulse of the working class communities and we all know what must be done. Wayne has to meet some of the families. After a few tears he'll be getting along like a house on fire, eventually. The Hillsborough Families will not accept the Scums 30 pieces of silver - but local Hospices would hardly be frowned upon if they used this money to good effect. After Wayne spends some time with the likes of Anne Williams, who has an upcoming case regarding her 15yr old lad, or John Glover, seems as the Scum have dragged him into it (John will have been upset the bastards even mentioned him) Then Wayne will learn an important lesson. We are prepared to forgive Wayne, and shame on the Scum for trying to suggest that the hatred being directed is to Wayne. He is a pawn. It's the Scum who are moving the pieces on the board, but it'll take a smarter approach to checkmate us Scousers.

We will likely forgive Wayne, but NEVER the Scum.

If the Hillsborough families and survivors make public they have forgiven Wayne - Kirkby Times will immediately remove the material which rightfully stays up for now, even though the Scum may find that "the words of other fans leave us in despair". The Scum scribes ought to pop into the Albert Public House in Anfield on a match day and listen to words a lot more harsher than what appears here on other 'Liverpool websites'. Luckily the laws of libel etc do not apply to what Scousers or people in general are saying in public.[yet] If what we thought, the content of our minds, was subject to scrutiny by the thought police, or assessed against the Murdoch moral code of thought - Liverpool's and a good section of Englands entire working class population would be in prison. Many middle class and upper classes think the Scum is a rag also. If Kirkby Times repeated the thoughts and wishes of Liverpool people without censorship, you can be assured that the Scum would likely be "left in despair" even more than they are right now with what is, to us Scousers, just a few mild little pops at Rooney to help him get back on track and do the honourable thing.

FACT: The scum ban is still in effect at Kirkby and Knowsley Libraries.

Liverpool Echo and Daily Post 'stirring up trouble'

"What The Sun finds most depressing about what is going on in Liverpool is the way trouble is stirred up by the local papers, the Post and the Echo." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

The Scum, in its pathetic attempt to gain credibility and win readers, has targeted the Liverpool Echo and Daily Post for comments made over the Rooney episode. Given the Liverpool Echo and the Daily Post simply reported on what was a massive outpouring of public opinion, and did so in an impartial manner, the Scum are really sinking to new levels in what is simply an attempt to score points over 'rival' newspapers. (ie: those not owned by Murdoch) Kirkby Times has had a few digs at the Liverpool Echo for various matters, not related to Hillsborough or Rooney, but anyone who read the Echo and Post comments on Rooney would not have concluded that there was not any attempt to stir up trouble. If anything, the Echo are trying to rescue the situation, they know all too well the feeling here in Liverpool regarding this very sensitive matter, yet are protective of Wayne Rooney, some of the journalists have met him and will have clocked that he is just an ordinary lad who got very lucky. Wayne is reportedly 'down to earth', but obviously ill advised by his agents and those around him. The Echo has always supported Wayne 100%. They are supporting him now and Wayne will have cuttings of Echo reports from when he was a kid as have hundreds others who never made it but had the thrill of trying and the sheer pleasure of the game itself. The Scum only came in at the point when Waynes success was assured.

The Echo and Post have to report on the Hillsborough Families reaction, and you can easily sense that they want to see a solution and do not want the situation to develop into one whereby Rooney gets booed every time he hits the ball when he comes to Anfield. The Scums implications are worrying, to imply that the Echo is doing anything but simply reporting, makes you wonder whether the Scum journos take enough water with whatever it is they use to write this crap.

The Original Lies Unfolding

The odds are the original Hillsborough lies (not only in the Scum) blaming, amongst other things, drunken Scousers, were written by drunken journalists who were passed information by the police and politicians. But the Scum will not tell us who penned the article, nor reveal the sources of the facts. They won't give the source for the original allegations which in turn led to millions of misinformed members of the public to conclude, even to this very day, that the Hillsborough Football Disaster was caused by the fans. How many people today still believe that Hillsborough was caused by ……. Drunken fans? Ticket-less fans? Pick pockets? Yobs? Hooligans? Surely by law we have a right to know the sources which have led people to conclude this? Had this political and media interference with the due process of law been made clear to Lord Justice Taylor [rip] it would have led him to have perhaps concluded that a full and open public inquiry was needed in the matter of the Hillsborough Disaster. This is a crucial point. The Scum may have said a little more than they ought to have said.

Time to Move On

The Scum make a big mistake, as one Liverpool website they have not seemingly looked at, (here http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough/) will show that ongoing legal moves by Anne Williams, bereaved Hillsborough Mum, and chairperson of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, prove that time may move on but the struggle for Justice only ends when we get Justice. Given that those behind the disaster escaped blame, and even conspired to pass on the blame to fans, and given the Scum was one of the biggest players in firing the first missiles of black propaganda - we ask the Scum why we should move on when they hide a piece of the jigsaw that will help the families and survivors to maybe 'move on' to a good solicitor. The Scum assistant editor apparently slipped up that the original Scum allegations came from a 'politician' - and given that there were Tory politicians at the game itself, and many prepared to lie and cheat, its an impotent point. The bereaved parents and survivors and campaigners and friends, will not move on until this and many many other questions are answered.

15 years is a long time.

"Fifteen years is a long time. It is 11 years longer than the First World War, nine years longer than the Second World War." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

The Scum tell us that 15 years is a 'long time', but as anyone knows, memories of loved ones or memories of traumatic events, live on till the day you die no matter how many years have passed. Just to help the readership, the Scum compare the 15 years since Hillsborough by mentioning the fact that the First World War only lasted 3 years, and the Second World War lasted 6 years. Given old comrades who fought and the older generation who were bombed here in Liverpool still remember with perfect recall the days of the war - why then use that to compare with the Hillsborough disaster? Like a lot of things in the Scum - it makes no sense at first, but maybe they are dragging up the WW1 and WW2 to somehow belittle our grief? Maybe they are saying 'they moved on, now so should you' The Scum cannot even say the word sorry without trying to make us feel sorry also. But they underestimate us. They always do.

Not about Money?

Graham Dudman said today on Radio Merseyside that the apology was "Not about money" Callers to the Roger Phillips call in show, for the main, were not fooled, and Dudman was dismissed by most. Dudman himself was not in the studio on Paradise street, and made the claim that the 'apology' was not about money, but I think most of us know better than to believe him. Would he have been on Radio Merseyside saying 'sorry' 100 times if he wasn't getting paid for it? Murdoch will always find someone to say sorry for him. Kelvin Mc Kenzie, the Scum Editor in 1989, should be dragged to a Court and forced under threat of imprisonment to name names.

The Scum offered £96,000 back in 1998 to some Hillsborough Families. At the time John Glover told me that "I'd never take a billion pounds off them". £1000 for each life lost. You'd get 3 times more for whiplash.

Loyalty

loyalty

What the scum journalists or Murdoch do not understand is our Loyalty. Kirkby Times has touched on this in a recent article concerning Steve Gerrard. We need to promote loyalty to our communities; this is the only hope for the working class in Liverpool, and a matter of self survival. Loyalty and Solidarity may sound a bit 'old fashioned', but if we all stand up for each other, then we will have strong communities and be able to tackle the social deprivation which we contend with. The likes of some snotty nosed rag slagging us off will be lessened considerably.

Finally, the Scum offer us the following observation and advice from the hired mercenary little toerag who penned the 'apology'...........

"We hope that the people of modern Liverpool, a city of spirit and sophistication, are not taken in." The Scum 'apology' 07 July 2004.

Don't worry. We're not.

"The Hillsborough Justice Campaign does not recognise the comments in today's edition of the S*n (7th July 2004) as a genuine or sincere apology for the lies it told in respect of the Hillsborough Disaster." From Hillsborough Justice Campaign website 07 July 2004.
