Liverpool Soldier Dies in Iraq
Sadly, but inevitably, it is the task of this website to report on the death of a
soldier from Liverpool. Her family come from Norris Green. Kirkby Times reported
that it would not be long before a Scouse soldier was killed over there in the badlands of
Iraq, a victim of the sick lies of Bush and his lying lapdog Blair. Staff Sergeant
Denise Rose, of the Royal Military Police's Special Investigation Branch, was found dead on the 31st October at a military camp in Basra. She is the first British female soldier to die in Iraq in this war and had only been on duty in Iraq since Sept 27th 2004. She had been with the Military police for 15 years since joining in 1988. By all accounts from friends and family she seemed a cheerful, popular and intelligent women, this makes the manner of her death suspicious, as we will see.
Dead from Gunshot wound
The 34-year-old from Liverpool was discovered dead from a gunshot wound at the Army
base in the Shatt-al-Arab Hotel.(which has already been shelled previously) The incident is being investigated but the MOD claim
that it is "not thought to have been the result of hostile action." Due to the
nature of Denise's work, which entails investigating officers and soldiers for very
serious abuses of duty, there will need to be questions raised and investigations
into what exactly she was investigating at the time of her death.
Working with Iraqi Police?
The MOD stated that "Sgt Rose deployed as a volunteer to Iraq on September 27, operating
as part of a small team of specialist investigators to provide security for the people of
Iraq and assist in the rebuilding of the country through the provision of a well-trained
police force."
If we read between the lines of the above statement it seems to state that Denise
was in Iraq operating as part of a small team of specialist investigators
with the Iraqi police force. It seems to indicate she was perhaps engaged in
different duties to her previous line of work which involved investigating
the British Army in Cyprus and the UK and discovering all manner of nasty
things going on.
Denise Was Investigating UK Army Abuses.
It is possible Denise was part of the SIB team behind the discoveries of the
Deepwater Barracks sexual abuse and bullying. The MOD's initial claim the Deepwater
suicides were not linked with abuse, now seem to flounder as we find a Deepwater
instructor had raped cadets in his charge. Perhaps Denise helped investigate the
Catterick Army Barracks were Labour MP Kevin Mc Namara stated the Army had possibly
'covered up 23 deaths' and once again made the familiar accusation that
The MOD operates a "culture of cover-up and secrecy". The
Royal Military Police's Special Investigation Branch was investigating
Catterick Barracks, and part of Denise's role may well have been to help
compile a database of suspicious deaths at Army bases across the UK. Either
way, Denise's job was not very pleasant at times, but given the number
of suspicious deaths and abuse in the UK Armed Forces, someone certainly
needs to do it. Sadly, for now, Denise is herself another victim of
suspicious death. We hope for her families' sake that there is a quick
conclusion to any investigation.
The MOD's further statement of the circumstances 'not being suspicious' seems
to offer the scenario that Denise died through the accidental or deliberate discharge
of a firearm. They won't say 'suicide' out loud, but that's what is being inferred.
Kirkby Times has no proof one way or the other what has happened, but we will await
the lead of the family in this matter and follow it. You can rest assured that
they will want to know all the details of what has gone on. It is very rare for
anyone committing suicide to do so without giving away clues to friends, colleagues
and certainly your family. If she was upset at anything, someone would know.
Her MP Bob Wareing told the Liverpool Echo that "war does have a dreadful
effect on people and they can react differently to it".
The greediest MP in the UK, Louise Ellman said: "This is very, very tragic.
All our thoughts must be with her bereaved family." Yes Louise, we do think of her family,
but our thoughts are also with the new labour party who sent Denise over there to her
ultimate death.
After the news broke in Liverpool, the reaction to the news of Denise's
death has ranged from feeling sympathy (which we all feel for a fellow Scouser)
to the wary suspicious Scousers, who rightly believe nothing the Government or
MOD ever say. We questioned right away the death of this young woman, and even
housewives in Kirkby Town Centre are wondering if there's more to this than
meets the eye.
As seen in other similar cases, we ought to wait until a full and proper
inquiry. Parents of the Deepcut Barracks victims, who also suffered fatal gunshot
wounds, seem to not trust the MOD 100%. They have good reason not to trust them
as another article will detail shortly.
Whatever's happened, Denise Rose is a victim of a war which need never
have taken place, and most civilised people would offer condolences to
her family and loved ones. Though the average soldier does not like
the military police much, most are not nasty about it and they will recognise
that every Army needs a special force to police it. We have already had 6 military
cops shot dead in Basra. The greed of those who are trying to steal the Iraq Oil
will sacrifice many more British soldiers before we realise the games up.
Denise's death brings the number of British service personnel who have died in the
Iraq war to 70. 7 of those have been military police. All have been shot,
6 defending themselves against 200 armed Iraqis who'd just seen UK soldiers
raiding the neighbourhood and not winning the hearts and minds of locals.
This 10% total of losses off the very force which police's and investigates
the abuses committed by UK troops, is worrying indeed.
