Crime in Kirkby.
What the papers don't tell you
Burglars decided to break into a house in the Scoter Road area of Northwood
on Sunday 31st Nov. The latest act of anti community crime saw thieves reportedly
smash some of the stolen property in the street. The road is a fairly quiet residential
road. Yet in the past few weeks and months a number of unpublicised crimes/attacks have
occurred including KHT residents being targeted by a gang and a car being set on fire
(and exploding) only a couple of weeks ago. Several other cars in the vicinity have been
damaged, plus there has been a spate of petty vandalism. Kirkby Times warned that the
setting up of exclusion zones, whilst having few youth facilities, was going to make
things worse.
No-one likes a common house burglar
Incidents like this burglary would not make the Liverpool Echo, but they are
the sort of incidents which needs publicising, and if the burglars or there mates
are reading Kirkby Times, you'll certainly appear here if caught, which is only a
matter of time on the law of averages. No-one likes a common house burglar. We only
hope the police have taken the steps to recover the forensic evidence, as it would
not surprise you if the burglars have left there 'dabs' at the scene of the crime,
despite having watched 10,000 movies portraying burglars and criminals on the TV
wearing gloves whilst 'in the act'. In a recent case when a car was smashed up
in the same area, the police tuned up two days after it had been towed away to
'take fingerprints'. This is just not good enough and there are many similar cases
were police response times are not good enough. Either way, though changes are needed
all round, its not the local 'plod' forcing windows in Northwood and stealing the
property of hard working people here who have little property to begin with, and
many unable to afford house insurance. Robbing off your own in this manner is
about the lowest of the low. People who burgle off there own, are the dregs of
the community. It's about time the pathetic Kirkby Extra (with a full front
page ad for alcohol!!!) or the former Knowsley Challenge now named 'The Challenge'
actually spoke out. Reading those papers you would be forgiven for thinking
burglary had ended and some Golden Age had descended upon us here in Kirkby.
Our councillors should be actually patrolling the streets, (there the places
were you knock before elections - remember?) and making sure there patches
are free of burglars and kids smashing in the windows of anyone not connected
to someone 'hard'.
It is a fact of life that where there is poverty, crime will become
a means of income to some. Years ago, most criminals or robbers or your local
genuine hard man, would look down on the scum who rob off there own. Sadly,
even the criminals own morals have fell by the wayside, and the kids or young
lads who targeted this honest working class family, may well have been able
to shift the property they stole to LOCAL PEOPLE.
How Serious Crime is Hidden from the Community
Kirkby Magistrates Court should never have been closed down, because when local
courts close, local people miss out on the opportunity to read the daily list of offenders
and offences. We also miss out on the chance to judge the effectiveness of local police
and magistrates. How do we know how they are performing? Nowadays we don't know who some
of the baddies necessarily are in Kirkby. Especially the really sly ones like sex offenders.
These people LOVE the fact that they are not actually tried locally in a local court. Why
should the honest decent working class people be denied a chance to see these people get
sent down? If justice is done it has to BE SEEN TO BE DONE.
In recent months, two Kirkby men were arrested then charged with extremely serious sexual
offences. The two (and there might be more for all we know) allegedly committed very
serious sexual offences involving children. One of the co-defendants, decided, it
seems, to pass judgment on himself. Accidental death so our sources inform us.
The other offender is on remand awaiting trial. His denials, perhaps poised to
come colliding with the solid foundation of patiently and carefully collected
evidence, gathered by dedicated cops whose efforts we will hopefully be first to
congratulate them on if the evidence sticks. These policemen have served the
community, and we hope and pray that the evil these officers have had to endure
is cast away as common sense and justice prevails. Merseyside's new Chief Constable,
we hope, will have taken onboard the failures of other forces as regards child sex
offenders sometimes slipping the net. Hopefully he might agree with the decent working
class people of Merseyside that those who do seriously abuse children should not be
getting out of jail. To decide whether these people should be allowed in the community
is perhaps something the communities could and should be in control of.
Child Abusers Not Welcome In Kirkby
Any locals out there, or other people who think that they can abuse children
and get away with it, are very much mistaken. Time is not on your side. You will be
caught. You will go to jail. Posters will be placed prominently in local businesses
and pubs warning people as to your dangerous presence if need be. You will never
live in Kirkby again, and once your name is circulated to all those hard men out
there who have an almost psychopathic hatred of child abusers, it is in effect the
most effective anti social behavioural order in town. If we had a local magistrate's
court we'd ALL know who these people were. It's like the politicians are denying us
the chance to actually have justice in the community. Kirkby Times will document fully
the trial of this local offender when it comes up, someone has already publicly alerted
the immediate community but as stated the offender or accused (we have to say accused
until he is found guilty) is now on remand (he was free for a while) and not a danger
to our community or any other right now. Once the court hearing brings a verdict,
a copy of the final report and photographs of the accused (with permission from
the family) will be published here on Kirkby Times and circulated widely on the
internet. Needless to say - our hearts go out to the family.
Coming Soon: David Henshaw in Australia. We trace the devious Rasputin
of Liverpool Council (formerly Knowsley) to Australia and find him talking
absolute utter garbage. Er, business as usual then. Another day - another free lunch.
