KHT Towerhill demolition scandal update
Dear Kirkby Times.
I came across your site by accident and I think more should be done to promote your
site and let Kirkby people know of your existence. I would like you to pass on via your
site the following message to the residents of Towerhill.
I am and have been a resident in the area for the last 33 years and have had no intention
of moving, however due to work I very rarely venture into the local area. This I did recently
and was totally shocked at the vandalism and neglect both as a result of poor management by
KHT and also by too many residents not doing their part. It came as a shock to me when demolition
was mentioned but on reflection it maybe the only way forward.
No one wants to see communities ripped apart but residents need and should have a
decent community to live in, at present they have not. I think we should all wait,
stick together and sit tight. As of today's date I like a lot of the residents do
not have a clear picture of what awaits the area in the future. At present it all
appears bleak, but through a united front and a bit of patience we could all end
up with the right community we all deserve? Thanks.
Ed - I wanted to attend a meeting recently but was unable to due to moving! Tenants have
spoken on Roger Phillips show and the KPHT website has details of the recent events.
Having been through a 'consultation process' with KHT regarding Tower Blocks in Northwood
- I would say that a united front is more likely with the people of Tower Hill. They have
a real community still. The £3,100 offered by KHT - just before Christmas - is sign
of the cunning that KHT management use in manipulating tenants. We had two dozen
glossy leaflets and a video by Roger Phillips - which you can see a clip of here
on Kirkby Times! Roger Phillips was used to sell this great KHT idea to the tenants
of Towerhill. He remembered this when asked on the show recently. He ought to be
ashamed for being used to put out propaganda which is blatantly politically
biased FOR the transfer of all the housing stock. We were duped - well, some
of us saw it coming - read the website! Type KHT in the search engine and
check it out. We've ALL read the glossy leaflets - but there's another side
to the story.
Good luck to all in Towerhill fighting KHT - don't forget to visit the Kirkby
Huyton and Prescott Workers Website for the news from past and present Knowsley
Council/KHT workers and friends and the curious. Remember - try not to take
frustrations out on the ordinary workers of KHT - not everyone who wears a
shirt and tie or smart dress is a manager on 100K a year. Most of KHT's staff
have absolutely NO say in this business of demolition. John Mc Hale and the
high ups are to blame - The people of Towerhill should find out where HE
lives and leaflet his community telling his neighbours he is trying to
destroy our community. John Mc Hale should be absolutely ashamed of
himself as he sits in the comfort of his double glazed, centrally heated
house . KHT management are, as the people of Towerhill put it -
CONMEN. They promise one thing and do another. Anyone who thought
that KHT were going to deliver on their promises would do well
to read the small print which states that it may take 8 years!
To complete the promises. Central Government has now realised
that KHT and other similar companies , are actually a lot more
expensive than the old Council housing system. Before the KHT
vote - property was allowed to fall apart thus making it more
likely for the voters to favour KHT. We were conned. The
level of manipulation which went into the KHT vote was
obvious.
Tenants groups beware!
PS beware of Knowsley Council or the Labour Party trying to
have any control of a tenants group. We already saw this with the
'Save St Kevin's Field' campaign leaders - the turncoats - Mr and
Mrs Keats who led the save St Kev's campaign later went on to help
Knowsley Council SELL ST KEVS! - You could not make it up!. Ask
yourself were they Labour Party members before they elbowed themselves
in as the 'leaders' of the failed campaign? If they were Labour Party
members it may point to a hidden agenda. Be careful who you choose
as leaders for local campaigns. Good luck! Stick together and you
WILL win.
