Towerhill Tenants in KHT demolition shock.

tower hill - sign says - New KHT project -demolition of youe homes - John Mc Hale of KHT says - We think its a great idea

Residents in Towerhill have been informed that 69 properties are being looked at with a view to them being demolished. Residents have received 3 letters which inform residents that 71 properties are being looked at are subject to 'consultation' - 2 of the properties have already been demolished due to being set alight and KHT are having trouble getting some properties tenanted in the area due to the old problem of anti social behaviour. It seems that some of the anti social behaviour may be caused by newer tenants moved into the area. Could this be another part of the so called 'wreck and sell' policy which Knowsley Council seemed to use to clear properties? The people of Towerhill who are to subject to KHT's plans are being treated with the usual appalling lack of consideration for their own wishes. On Monday the 10th of November at 6.30pm, the people of Towerhill will be able to let KHT know what they think. There will be a meeting in Towerhill Community Centre where the matter will be explained in more detail. Kirkby Times should be able to bring you an on the spot report.

Beware of Consultation Plans

Tenants in Towerhill have had 3 letters which go into various aspects of the plans, we have to wonder just who the consultation firm is and whether it's just KHT speak for 'we've made our minds up but would like to pretend were consulting the community'. Having been involved in a similar 'consultation plan' when tenants were being decanted from Oak Tower Northwood - I can say that tenants had NO say and we actively and deliberately steered away from forming a tenants group which made pensioners even more vulnerable to the Scum preying on them. KHT ignored the problem till eventually a pensioner was found dead - robbed by the heroin addicts KHT were warned about. Tenants in Tower Hill would be wise to form a tenants group right away and make sure KHT or the Council keep their hands off the wheel.

One rule for Huyton - Another for Kirkby

Towerhill residents currently under threat of losing their homes will have seen KHT spend hundreds of thousands of pounds in producing glossy leaflets, newspapers and even a video to spell out the promises to the people of Knowsley before the sell off and privatisation of Council Housing. However, Towerhill and indeed Kirkby is being sadly discriminated against - perhaps KHT sense we are so poorly organised that they deliberately target Kirkby for 'cost cutting' and spend less here than in Huyton. This is economic apartheid and a blatant misuse of power by the Huyton mafia which dominates Knowsley.

Garden Walls, Dropped Kerbs and Flagging for Huyton!

In Huyton KHT workers are building garden walls, flagging to their entire front gardens, fencing to the adjoining gardens and dropped kerbs (which may a legal requirement if you provide vehicle access to a property) in Kirkby the customers are just getting garden walls, both sets of customers pay similar rents and council tax but Kirkby is once again being duped. Kirkby Times warned that KHT would be worse for us - and sadly this website, for now, is right in that assumption or prediction. We also have to ask is it a total disregard for the law by KHT in supplying double gates for vehicle access and not supplying dropped kerbs? Are they acting legally? Having seen the walls being built in Kirkby (talk about stretching the job) And looking at various sub contractors working on KHT property (no safety goggles using angle grinders etc)- I prefer KHT workers by a mile because they adhere to British Health and Safety regulations and are trained to do the job at hand.

Money is vanishing into a black hole

SRB and new deal money pouring into a black hole in space

Huyton meanwhile gets new bathrooms, new windows, new kitchens, new driveways, new pathways and a new magistrate's court, a new bus terminal, more leisure facilities and 6 IT centres with some locals at least paid to teach Huyton kids computer skills. Huyton Councillors dominate the cabinet and all the various committee's. Is it any wonder so much money is floating round Huyton? Worse still, the area is subject to New Deal for Communities funding - this money is vanishing into a black hole - Huyton has messed things up so bad that last year, the Knowsley scheme spent only 49% of its annual budget of £4.7m! Have they got so much money that over 2 million pounds can be overlooked? This is a sign of bureaucracy gone mad. No-one knows what's happening to the money - Just like Kirkby and the SRB Millions. Good luck to all in Towerhill - the only way to fight KHT is to stay united and to rekindle the old sense of community which is being destroyed here in Kirkby.

PS - Maybe residents in Tower Hill trying to fight to save their homes may care to ask why the Northwood Residents Association was supported by Jim Keight and funded with a staggering £65,051 (Sixty Five thousand quid!!) yet Tower Hill residents seem to not have a funded residents group. More on the Northwood Residents Association scandal here.
