A number of people have asked what has become of the old cobbled pathway on
St Kevin's field which led to the old 'water house' as we called it. A building
familiar to generations of kids especially pupils of the former St Kev's who used
to bunk out there.
Look back in Anger
St Kevin's field was decimated by Knowsley Council and the
hypocrites who led
the campaign to save the field are now elected councillors who have sat back
and allowed the whole mess to happen. We ask were Mr and Mr Keats actually
members of the Labour Party before they 'led' the campaign? We only hope
these pair of traitors are kicked out next year. It's about time the people
of Kirkby woke up to Labour.
Back to the cobbled pathway.
The cobbled pathway was a nice sight, I took some photos of this pathway
and never dreamed the fools of Knowsley Councils planning department would
agree for it to be ripped up by contractors. Where have the cobbles stones
gone we ask? Someone would pay a few quid for them; perhaps some rich snob
has paved their garden with this pathway. Once again, a small part of Kirkby's
history is ripped up and hardly a mention is made.
Were on a road to Hell.
The new road which has been built is a one way road but we can guess by
the size of it that there will also be run off roads leading to a massive
housing estate. Traffic lights are already in place and instead of the nice
view of the cobbled pathway, we now have another road. Instead of a green field we'll have
another housing estate. Less green to cleanse the air of the toxic pollutant from Sonae etc.
Waterlogged
Coming soon - St Kevin's enclosed playing areas - are they waterlogged? -
have the contractors/Knowsley Council messed it up? - our photos so far seem
to suggest that all is not well.
