When the South African National Nazi party practised apartheid, one of
its main characteristics was to remove from public use, and view, the playing
areas used for sport by the favoured elite who ran that country. Isn't it amazing
that the new labour Knowsley Council warmly embrace this discriminatory policy.
The "new" playing fields for Ruffwood School, replacing the fields
plundered by the land grabbers, will be surrounded by 12ft high fencing,
and off limits to the local community. Very similar in fact to the 56 acres
of land at Windy Arbour, flogged off cheaply to Liverpool FC, and which is
hidden away from public view by huge mounds of earth behind 10ft high fencing.
Is there any local youth allowed on there? Very unlikely. Is it any wonder
community based sport in Kirkby has virtually disappeared and young people
left with little to do? Kirkby Times has a message to Mr Cllr Roundabout
who runs the Council, Kirkby people will not be treated like the disadvantaged
were in South Africa by their fascist rulers.
We in the
KNOW will continue our campaign for the people of Kirkby
