There is a proposed planning application for a Council 'one stop health
shop' which will be based in Tower Hill and consist of various medical facilities;
a 'primary health care' facility (whatever the hell that means) plus various health
related schemes would be housed there. Also proposed is a nursery (another private one?)
and possibly a pharmacy. Half a dozen GP's would be nice (we'll need them soon with the
thousands of extra residents moving here) but it seems that we can't get GP's to
actually stay in the community long term any more before they quietly leave to
better pastures.
More School Playing Fields/Public Fields eyed up by Council.
The proposed site is to the north east of the school buildings of
Ravenscroft Primary School in Tower Hill and at the rear of local homes
by Chesterfield Drive. The proposed site is made up of a section of the
School Field and Public Open Space. Basically it's another bit of grass field
to dig up for Knowsley Council. Perhaps this is the only land that can be used
- but given the amount of land dished out to contractors and developers, it seems
that Knowsley Council have a very nasty habit of reclaiming green fields instead
of more suitable areas. It seems that we have been robbed blind when it comes to
the Council simply protecting what was supposed to be our heritage. Everything
successive generations fought for is being plundered; land left for us is
transformed into millions of pounds profit for Wimpeys.
They sell with the recklessness only someone using public money can summon up in financial dealings
Meanwhile your kids are playing 'dodge death' in the streets as the volume
of traffic increases and playing areas are sold, not even to the highest bidder.
We lose all round. Knowsley Council are carrying on the great Tory Tradition of
selling publicly owned assets to private concerns whose only motive is profit.
Just like the Tories they sell with the recklessness only someone using public
money can summon up in financial dealings. Kirkby has a long history of public
funds being used in this manner.
Greedypool FC
Liverpool FC have made millions off us here in Kirkby due to the gutless
Judas brigade of Labourites who will be trying to get voted in again next year.
Kirkby Times will be encouraging the natives to take these clowns on - The St Kevin's
Sell Off Councillors will be pleased to know that any info Kirkby Times has can be
used by ANY individual or Party to print off a dozen good leaflets which unmask the
lot of you. Graphics included. The Greens, the Lib Dems and much more besides is
waiting to have a go at the Labour Party here in Kirkby. You've never had a contest
here, this will all change.
How the Council can get away with digging up green fields
The planning application points to the Unitary Development Plan which
is referred to a lot by the Council and referred to in this planning application.
Luckily for Knowsley Council they are 'allowed' by this great plan to be able to
dig up green space as long as it can prove the green space has 'no special features'
and that the vegetation is of 'no special quality'. No reference is made to the fact
that Tower Hill has become a place once surrounded by countryside almost, to one
which is being enclosed by massive housing estates and the industrial estate.
Every blade of grass left here is 'special quality', every patch of green is a
'special feature' when your living in a concrete jungle for the most part. Even
the surrounding farms, those not yet sold off for housing, are hardly 'green'
and are dosed in chemical cocktails each year.
Knowsley Councils Unitary Development Plan
There is an old version of the Unitary Development Plan on the
Councils website but Kirkby Times has been privileged to have glimpsed
a copy of the replacement Unitary Development Plan which will soon be
dissected and interpreted into simple language. As you could imagine the
plan is riddled with annoying buzz words such as 'Core strategy'
'regeneration' and 'objectives' and the usual meaningless bureaucratic
mumbo jumbo so loved by the idiots with degrees who write these things.
