Kirkby Pensioner Terrorised

kill smackheads graffiti in westvale

Another pensioner in Kirkby has fell victim to the Local Lowlife who seem to be crawling out the woodwork more often these days. This time, a Pensioner in Westvale suffered a heart attack after a campaign of harassment by youths finally saw them burn down her garden fence. Elisabeth Kevan aged 71 has had to put up with weeks of abuse by gangs and her Daughter blamed the heart attack fairly and squarely on the vandalism. Elizabeth Kevan collapsed as she was making a 999 call from her home in Kirkby.

Local Scum need sorting out by all means necessary.

This has gone too far. Not only was this poor woman subject to abuse, the little toe-rags actually threw stones at her. This incident is just one of dozens which go on day in day out. The gangs of kids see no wrong in what they are doing and they have no role models to make them see the error of their ways. There are too many mothers and fathers here who have failed to impress upon their own kids the need for them to respect people.

Below, another sign telling us CCTV is watching us. But is it helping us?

Southdene saw another disgusting attack on a pensioner recentely when an 88yr old, was burgled and the thief, no doubt one of Westvale's chemical enthusiasts, stole her winter fuel allowance then ripped the rings off this frail old ladies fingers after terrifying her in her bedroom. This was the sixth time she had been burgled and Westvale's crime figures would be sky high if all crime was actually reported. Disorderly gangs have been a problem there, but Inspector Firth the Neighbourhood Inspector up here in Kirkby told the Echo that 'we have had no previous reports of youth disorder round here'. Maybe people have given up calling the Police?

Community Wardens?

There have been community wardens in Tower Hill and other regions. So far there's been no real feedback as to how effective they have been. These wardens are not Police, but simply local people who can patrol the area and keep an eye on things. Surely we could introduce this scheme to all areas of Kirkby, making sure the right people get the jobs? We could make sure that all our pensioner are visited once a week, maybe the scheme could be extended to allow local people to simply knock on the doors like some kind of paid guardian angel for the old folk. This would not earn a profit, it has to funded, but subsidizing the care of our elderly AND taking people off the dole should be enough reason to release more funds so Local people can tackle this problem of anti social crime. The Police would obviously benefit.

Massive Funding with strict accountability needed.

Together with massive funding to tackle the lack of facilities for our youth, this is the only option if we are to put an end to the anti social community crime which periodically see's our old folk being battered and terrorized by anti social scum. These Cowards should be made an example of. The Councillors in these areas affected should also do more then knock once a year asking the OAP's to vote em in. They must ultimately bear some of the brunt and should make it their job to KNOW the elements that are behind any attacks. If elected they should fight tooth and nail for the people here who just want to get on with our lives and not have to live in fear of some copper knocking at the door to tell us our Mother has been terrorised, or our neighbour kicked to death for tackling the Yobs.
