Liverpool FC's plans for Anfield are being treated with kid gloves by the
Liverpool Echo which seems to find no reason to criticise or even investigate
the matter a little. The term 'investigative reporter' is one we hear little
of these days, most local papers are content to churn out 'celebrity worship'
stories and in Liverpool we have to go through another 5 years of creepy
'capital of culture' spin-doctoring. The Echo which is owned by Trinity
Holding's, is not really 'Local' - and local journalists - some of whom
are very good, are surely held back by the fear of seeing a flourishing
career dashed on the rocks of Free Speech - luckily that's not a concern
of Kirkby Times.
"It is as if the people of Anfield do not matter"
On Tuesday Sept 16, there was an article in the Liverpool Echo which
spelled out Liverpool FC's proposals for a £250m stadium on Stanley Park
Liverpool FC has promised residents 'they will not be forgotten' (we've
heard that before) as the club moves forward with their 'regeneration plans'
which the Anfield Regeneration Action Committee or local residents have so
far not actually seen! Mike Butler, a spokesman for the Residents told the
Echo "It is as if the people of Anfield do not matter. Everything is being
concentrated on LFC." That's exactly what happened in Kirkby in the dirtiest
deal ever carved out by a premier league football club.
Liverpool FC Fail in promises to Kirkby people
In Kirkby, Liverpool FC promised a lot of things to the community, similar
things which are now being promised to the working class people of Anfield. In
Kirkby we were promised an adult and further education centre of sorts, just
like the people of Anfield have been 'promised' - we never got ours, AND we had
to pay an advance contribution for this great centre out of SRB funds (no news
has EVER been made public about whether this money was returned with due interest)
- the land set aside by Liverpool for this Centre for the community turned out to
be next to a toxic factory, the land lies vacant to this day. The information regarding
exactly what Liverpool promised should be put on the internet in the interests of
freedom of vital public information. Digital technology, which Knowsley Council
imagine they are at the cutting edge of, is actually at the stone-age in Kirkby.
The powers that be are running scared and this new technology will eventually be
the nail in the coffin of secretive local and national government.
People of Kirkby help Bankroll New Liverpool FC Stadium
The man behind the Windy Arbour sell off of the Century was none other than
David Henshaw - formerly Knowsley Councils shadowy Chief Executive and now Chief
Executive of Liverpool. He took that Liverpool Council job just after the deal to
sell Liverpool PLC Land worth at least £56 MILLION POUNDS for the sum of £3 Million
Pounds! No wonder Liverpool can afford this new stadium, the people of Kirkby have
bankrolled it - But that's conveniently missed out in the Echo who seem to actually
struggle to mention news in Kirkby. Even the Knowsley Challenge and Kirkby extra
seem to miss out the stories regarding hundreds of millions of pounds going out
of our purse here. But with the Local Church and Knowsley Council running things
- the truth is an embarrassing issue to be brushed under the lumpy carpet.
Buy 3 Acres get 53 Acres Free!
Don't trust the promises of Liverpool FC - or the politicians trying
to push this Anfield deal. David Henshaw's so called 'brilliant mind' is not
really so brilliant or bright if you consider the mess he left Kirkby in
after his rushed and secretive deal. Liverpool FC consulted a handful of
mesmerised idiot Councillors and local nodding dogs, the dimmest of local
political wannabes - there was NO real survey of the thousands of people
in Northwood who had to see their own land, their 'birthright', practically
given away to Liverpool FC. The people of Kirkby got screwed by our 'deal'
. We have an Academy of Excellence fenced off, mounds of earth hiding the
privileged 'potential assets' inside, the gates are locked to local kids.
We saw at least £53 million pounds of Public Assets vanish in one fell
swoop; lets call it the "Buy 3 Acres get 53 Acres Free! Deal" and all
of it 'masterminded' by Henshaw and Liverpool FC and the gutless dregs
of the Labourites here who would sell their own mothers if the price
was right -Liverpool FC could likely see their Kirkby 'land portfolio'
increase to 3 times the amount in a few years as land prices go nuts.
It's possible the Academy land now is worth way over £100 million.
Remember that ANY loans Liverpool FC get to build this new stadium
will be based on Liverpool FC's current and future/projected assets
- would it not be interesting to see how much Liverpool FC's accountants
would value the Academy? Could this Kirkby deal clinch the Anfield
deal? Why is it that one of the poorest regions in the UK has seen
vital assets sold for a song?
