Tucked away near the bottom of page 13 of the Daily Post 2/ 9/ 03 is an article you
wont see anywhere else.
Its been revealed that the price of land in Knowsley (what's left of it!) has rocketed
to £1 million per acre. Keight and Henshaw cobbled together the secret land deal that gave
Liverpool FC 56 acres of land at Windy Arbour in Kirkby for £3million without ever going out
to public tender. Liverpool got most of their outlay back when they flogged on a small area
to Whitbread's for the David Lloyd centre. No wonder Keight got the OBE on Henshaw's
recommendation.
Below, Jim 'Kaiser' Keight in the glorious days of the Keight empire........
Liverpool FC Chief Executive Rick Parry must love Henshaw and Keight
providing this Rolls Royce service, but wait a minute after the Hatton years
weren't Councils told that major land deals by should negotiated by public tender? Land
is a community asset. And what about Keight and O'Hare ? both were heavily involved
in the putting together of the deal and agreeing the price, both were season ticket
holders at Liverpool FC, and both were part of the five man group (which included
Ronnie Roundabout) who moved the recommendation on a startled Labour Group and
whipped it through the Council !
Not to be outdone Henshaw has now delivered Stanley Park to Rick Parry on a
plate for Liverpool's new ground, this six years after the City Council under
Peter Bounds gave Everton FC the elbow when they made an approach to move
their new ground into Stanley Park.
This is called being " business friendly" or is it business for friends !
Clearly these people can walk on water, or is there anybody
out there who understands the Codes of Conduct and Criminal law
governing Councillors and Council Officers.?
Those in the KNOW are not holding their breath !
