Justice For Kevan Sloan
Local man Kevin Sloan will be allowed out of prison tomorrow until Saturday
27th Dec. He'll be spending Christmas with His mum Eileen and sister Carla who
is now living on the island; his first since his imprisonment by the Spanish authorities.
Des Harcus, a friend of Kevan and the Sloan Family has said on the
Kevan Sloan Website that "I have spoken to Kevans sister a number of
times since my last update and she tells me that Kev, apart from being
bored with not much to occupy his time remains strong and looks forward
to his release, which hopefully will be in January 2004. I'm sure everyone
wishes them a happy Christmas and an even happier new year."
Note: The Above was written by Des Harcus and is reproduced here so the good news can spread round.
I'm sure all the readers of The Kirkby Times will join with us in
hoping very much that this decent hardworking decent lad will be home soon in the
New Year. We hope too that this release for Christmas is a sign that the
authorities are going to soon release him. We will look more at the case
when Kevans out, diplomacy is something that needs to exercised right now,
but he is an innocent man and we all know it. He isn't the first, and sadly
he won't be the last. Kevans boss at his workplace has kept him on the
payroll, a gesture which is heart warming and also an indication of
the support people have for him and their undying belief that he was
wrongly arrested and jailed. For now though, we hope Kevan can breathe
a little easier and that the light is that little bit nearer the end
of the tunnel.
