Kirkby Times is
delighted to report that Jim Keight, the Leader of Knowsley Council has lost his seat
in St Gabriel's Ward, Huyton to Frederick Fricker of the Liberal Democrats and his
career as leader is no more. This Great News came about 11.30 pm last
night on the Election Special broadcast on BBC Radio Merseyside.
I would have given my last penny to actually have been there at
the count in, there must have been a recount as Keight realised
his grip on Knowsley Politics is all but over!.He lost by 16 votes. This is great
news for the people of Kirkby.
Keight the Manipulator
Keight was known for his manipulative dealings and had the Labourites in his
grip through his 'reward system' whereby anyone who agreed with his policies
was given rewards. Kirkby times exposed this in our St Kevin's feature, and
most of us here will be very happy to see this long standing thorn in
the side of the Working Class kicked out. Kirkby Times well and truly
had its finger on the pulse when our article relating to the election
in Kirkby had this to say….
"We can only hope that some Labour scalps are taken on the night, the greatest scalp has
to be Keight's and we can report that his position is not as safe as he thinks.
His seat will likely go soon, lets hope its sooner rather than later."
Keight Last Sad Email to Kirkby Times to be published soon!
Keight actually emailed Kirkby times last week, it's hardly worth printing
now he's a political non entity, but we will publish his sad remarks soon.
There will also be further analysis of the votes here in Kirkby, Keight
was the biggest surprise but Kirkby Times was there with the prediction first!
