Paedophiles in Kirkby: is this a Solution?

working class rule for working class areas

Kirkby Times has received a leaflet which was given out in a Working Class Estate in London concerning paedophiles. Given the recent attack on a paedophile here, it is worth publishing the contents of this leaflet because it is the most sensible approach and analysis of the problem which this website has seen so far.

The leaflet was published and distributed by the Independent Working Class Association, an organisation not many here will, as yet, heard of. A branch will be starting up soon in the Merseyside Area and we will give links to the respective websites of the IWCA branches so you can see if it's worth supporting. Working Class rule in Working Class areas is the underlying principle behind the IWCA. If you wish to be kept informed of any upcoming IWCA events in Liverpool, contact them from there websites which are linked to at the end of this article. Kirkby times will report on any developments here in Liverpool as regards the IWCA.

Fear and Loathing on the Estate - Just who is the Enemy Within?

Following the tragic deaths of Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells in Soham a wave of paedophile-related scares have gripped Harold Hill(a council estate in London). Firstly, a mentally ill man on Longtown Road was moved into secure accommodation after being 'outed' by some local mothers, then the alarm was raised along Farnham Road after an elderly man was seen talking to a couple of young girls. Also a banner was placed, ironically, near the Gallows Corner round-a-bout proclaiming 'HONK IF YOU WANT CHILD KILLERS HUNG.'

Off the back of a accumulation of national events leading up to the Soham tragedy, many on our estate have become increasingly worried about a perceived threat to our children.

Lets look at the facts.

The abuse of children is not a recent phenomenon, but is instead an old British tradition stretching back centuries - if we couldn't shove them up chimneys we would send them out to sea!

Sexual abuse today though is still far too common - as the figure of over 100,000 convicted UK sex offenders indicates.

Fortunately, children that are abducted by strangers are few and far between, with most abuse coming from within the family by somebody the child knows. Look at the recent confession of comedian Billy Connolly to being abused by his own father.

Likewise, there are many cases such as the Killer Whales swimming coach Michael Drew who molested a string of boys before being sent down for 8 years in July 2001. Here again, children being taken advantage of by somebody trusted.

Yes, child abuse is absolutely disgusting and intolerable - it is an abuse of power, a perversion of the authority of the adult over the child, psychological as well as physical. The abuse of power - the strong upon the weak - is all around us and comes in many different forms - none need be accepted or tolerated.

The IWCA believes that no single issue can be separated from all others - they must be brought together under an umbrella that covers both a critique and a solution.

The solution? Community control.

The 'community', of course, is you, while the 'control' that needs to be exercised is on both those from 'within' who prey, for whatever reason, on the weak and vulnerable, and those from 'without' whose influence is just as corrosive to community cohesion and unity.

Vigilance - as opposed to a witch-hunt - is a good thing, but lets not target those because they are perceived as 'not normal' or 'a bit strange'. Blimey, just what is normal?

There must be no more Longtown Road incidents but a united response to the threats we face.
