Duncan Ferguson May Be Charged for stopping Burglar

Duncan Ferguson the Everton FC Football Player has been involved in an incident were he stopped a burglar who entered his property. The burglar, 37 year old Karl Bishop, has already admitted intent to steal when he appeared before North Sefton Magistrates last week.

Ferguson Foils the Plans of Bishop

The burglary was disturbed by Duncan Ferguson who found the burglar in his home and immediately tackled him. The burglar is now accusing Ferguson of assaulting him and is putting himself forward as a victim as is becoming the fashion for various lowlife in society. The 'victim bandwagon' must be stopped. There are real victims in Society being denied help. Anyone burgling a house has every right to expect not too warm a welcome from the householders. Luckily Duncan Ferguson is a big lad, he was able to tackle the burglar and foil his plan to rob him and possibly cause harm. Karl Bishop's solicitors bleated to the press claiming that "My client received severe bruising to the body and to the face due to numerous blows with a fist. One eye is so bruised it has completely closed and he also has a number of cuts to his face and head."

Below, the burglar who had it so hard and was treated so unfairly and unjustly by Duncan. Maybe we should hold a collection for this poor burglar who was prevented from carrying out his job? Maybe not though.

Justice For Tony Martin

Tony Martin, a Norfolk Farmer was jailed for shooting two burglars, one of whom died. The surviving lowlife, Brendon Fearon, has unbelievably been declared a "victim of serious crime" by the Home Office counseling service and even asked for his views on Martin's release date! Martin is serving a life sentence for wounding Fearon and killing his teenage accomplice, Fred Barras, with a shotgun in an attempt to defend his isolated property and perhaps his very life. Barras had a string of burglary and assault convictions. Fearon himself has 34 convictions for burglary, theft and handling stolen goods, and is currently serving three years for the break-in.

Politicians and Lawyers messing things up

All over the Country the same depressing tales are heard as victims of muggers, burglars and other criminals are charged for defending themselves or somehow causing injury to their assailant. New Labour have shown us that there twisted politics will actually redefine the burglar as a victim. The lawyers have shown us that they too are prepared to add to the ever growing queue of 'victims' and are in the process of bleeding the Country dry as they embark upon a 'No Win No Fee' campaign encouraging the UK to collectively sue itself. Justice is being sacrificed as we lose sight of the real victims who are in genuine need of help and protection by the legal process. The Law itself is becoming a standing joke.

Duncan Ferguson a Working Class Hero!

Kirkby Times hopes that Duncan Ferguson is given a reward by the Judge for catching Karl Bishop and that Bishops attempt to jump on the burglar's compensation bandwagon is swiftly curtailed. Duncan Ferguson is a Working Class Hero who has put something into the community unlike a lot of Football players who move here. By making a Citizens Arrest, Ferguson has prevented one burglar from carrying out his snide activities. We should be gratefull. The Police should be shaking his hand; the Judge and Jury should join Kirkby Times and the people of Merseyside and give Duncan a big round of applause. Thanks mate. A lot of people will sleep easier now we have one less burglar loose.

Crime against the Community

Any potential burglars who are reading this should take note that entering someone's home without there permission is a crime against the community. We've had enough incidents on Merseyside were old folk have been literally frightened to death by this traumatic experience. People who rob their own are the lowest of low. The current generation of burglars is the lowest we've had, no style, no morals and mostly a bunch of drug addicts happy to sell a few thousand pounds worth of OUR property for a couple of hundred quid. The people who buy this stuff know its being robbed off their neighbours. We have a minority in Kirkby happy to buy property which has obviously been stolen somewhere local. The heroin addicts selling these bargains to local people is a shameful trade. It's also a vicious circle as the addicts know there is ready cash if they nick your kids playstation.

Justice Woolf: Clueless?

Lord Justice Woolf, who has been mentioned on this website, has himself tried to put forward the proposition that Burglars, or first time burglars, should not go to Jail. Lord Woolf himself is safe from the tide of crime sweeping the Country, and unlike the average person in Kirkby, he will also have considerable security and the safety cushion of a nice insurance policy should he be burgled. Justice Woolf has little idea of what life is like here in Kirkby. We are condemned as criminals just because we are from Liverpool. They look down at Kirkby, dismissing the high crime figures as proofs were all just 'working class trash'. Truth is, the people here have more sense of Justice than these Judges will ever have. We don't need to run a poll in the Town Center to know that most of us here would like to see custodial sentences for burglars. There will be exceptions to the rule, but most burglars who burgle homes need to be given a lesson. Let the Community be the Judge of what that lesson needs to be. One thing's for sure, we need people with imagination and vision to tackle the problems which lead to this crime in the first place.

Updated 17/01/03:Duncan is not going to be charged with any offense.
