Its seems
our old folk are increasingly becoming the prey of the lowlife who seem to think
mugging old age pensioners is a legitimate way of funding their drug habits.
These cowardly creatures have become an unfortunate part of our society, and
the problem is getting worse.
Wrestled to the ground
Brenda Wynne, 63, was mugged by two men on Saturday 12th January as she walked home
after having a quiet drink in The Sefton Pub in West Derby Village. The cowardly scum,
who robbed her, wrestled her to the ground yards from her home. They took a handbag containing
£13 and personal belongings' and left a shaken Mrs Wynne to go home were she called
the Police. It is not reported whether the Police responded immediately to the incident
and sent a car round. Mrs Wynne, a mother of four children only reported minor injuries
at the time and was likely suffering from severe shock and trauma.

Collapsed and died 3 days later
On Tuesday, Mrs Wynne attended hospital for treatment on her knee which was hurt
in the vicious attack on the Saturday. As she left the hospital this poor woman
collapsed and died. A post mortem has revealed that she had suffered deep vein
thrombosis. The muggers had killed her, just as sure as if they had knifed her.
By throwing this woman to the ground, they had shown a disregard and viciousness
which can in turn only be met with a life sentence.
Death was directly caused by the robbery.
The Attack took place on Saturday January the 12th in West Derby Village, the
Killers are described as 'both in their early 20s and thin. One was wearing a
light woolen hat, a blue padded bomber jacket and light trousers.' Detective
Chief Inspector Brian McNeill, who is leading the investigation, said: "Mrs
Wynne's death was directly caused by the robbery." The Police, and indeed
all of us are keen to trace Mrs Wynnes handbag and purse which both had gold
guardian angel medallions attached. If you have any information on the people
behind this crime, please inform the Police. 'Grassing' scum like this up is
not breaking any code.
Kirkby Times extends sympathy to the Family and friends of Mrs Wynne.
