Knowsley Council are continuing to issue Council tax
demands and Court summonses to tenants demanding imagined amounts
of money supposedly owed. Kirkby Times can report that even despite
one tenant being told the Council had made yet another co** up on
their computer systems, the tenant was later treated to a letter
explaining that he now owed £40.70 Court Costs as a 'liability order
was issued' because of 'non payment of Council Tax'. This happens all
the time with Knowsley Council; imagine how our pensioners must feel
when bailiff's demands start coming in?
A Mountain of Useless Paperwork
There is no-one in Kirkby who seems to want to tackle this growing problem
whereby Knowsley Councils Computer System sends out a mountain of paper
work. The liability order was accompanied with 15 separate A4 pieces of
paper - are Knowsley Council thick or have they got shares in the paper
company? Is it 'job creation' creating hundreds of extra hours spent by
staff trying to sort out the mess? This letter is just one of dozens
sent by Knowsley Council to this one person so far this year! This
is insanity - the amount of paper used by Knowsley Council could be
cut back by tons if they actually had some common sense at the top
- but that's the trouble - the people running Knowsley Council, the
bosses and bigwigs, as this website shows, are getting money for nothing.
We could have locals doing a better job for one quarter of the wage these
Muppets get.
Bailiffs Called In by Knowsley Council
The threatening letter goes on to threaten the tenant by stating
"If you fail to
pay the above balance, or do not enter in a satisfactory agreement within 14 days
of the date of this notice I will instruct a firm of certified bailiffs to recover
the debt from you." It's amazing how Knowsley council can lose up to 100 million
in a land deal yet find time to threaten tenants over £40.70. If there were any
justice the bailiffs would crawling all over the Council chambers.
Sell my goods at Public Auction
The letter, which is issued under the authority of Steve Houston, Knowsley
Councils Director of Finance and Information Society Technologies, goes
on to inform the unlucky recipient that
"If you do not pay the bailiffs
they may disdain on your goods and possessions (rob them) which may be sold
at Public Auction to pay your debt"
PS: Congratulations to Knowsley Council and Knowsley Housing Trust for
managing to have departments next to each other yet not be able to share
information. Congratulations to Steve Houston in particular for his
department's efforts in bullying tenants with threatening letters.
Fancy dropping it off in person next time Stevie Boy? I'd like a
chat about sending these letters out, especially to our OAP's.
You are a disgrace to public office. The buck stops at your door
- I blame YOU for this bloody mess of paperwork and backlogs and
pure simple c**k ups due to questionable software or those using
it. Either way - I demand an apology,(I'll add it to the list of apologies
owed by these rude uncivilised idiots) no doubt there are hundreds
of others in the Knowsley area affected by the torrent of demands
for imagined debts by a Council which, to be frank, doesn't seem
to know it's ar** from it's elbow. Maybe if we had a decent
tenants association to fight these idiots we'd have a chance
- more on Kirkby's lack of tenants associations soon.
