Knowsley Housing
Trust (KHT) workers do a thankless job sometimes, and without being too
familiar, I bet opening the wage-packet isn't a cause for celebration
for most KHT workers, unlike the management! Rumours of Securicor
escorting KHT management to pick up the wages may well be rumours,
but even if I've just made it up, it may lighten the load as you
plough through the latest news from Kirkby's most talked about website.
Working on the frontline - A Thankless task
The KHT workers on the 'frontline'(
see workers web-site here) as it were, are those workers who go on
'call outs' to various emergency repairs. This service is vital. But sadly,
some parts of Knowsley are becoming dangerous for the workers as the usual
'victims of society brigade' seem to think that picking on some KHT worker
or perhaps punching a fireman or bricking a bus is an act of rebellion or
an expression of their 'human rights'. The kids burning down KHT houses
and property are going to be crying in their beer in a few years when they
realise they've got nowhere to live in the local area.
Let's take 50 kids to Alton Towers on Mischief night!
The irony is, Knowsley Council, the former employers of KHT workers,
have decided, in partnership with the Police, to 'reward' 50 odd 'vulnerable
youth' by taking them and 'peer mentors' on an all expenses paid outing to
the expensive Alton Towers theme park on 'Mischief Night' which should be
called 'commit vandalism and terrorise the old folk night'(more U$A stupidity).
Kirkby Times exposed the scheme here in Kirkby where SRB money helped to pay
for truants to have home computers! Kirkby Times has spoken out against this
'reward the bad' politically correct madness which is being pushed by Middle
Class Do Gooders. Many kids in Kirkby have never been to Alton Towers. As one
local mum said "It's just far too expensive". A quick look at the Alton
Towers website reveals that group bookings are priced at £17.50 with
over 26 people - most families will have to pay a premium rate and
the cost of travel for a family of four, plus buying drinks and
food, would add up to about a week's wages! Remember, Alton
Towers is a long distance and many families without cars
would have to hire a mini bus as using a train or bus would
mean little time is spent there. This must be extremely frustrating
to parents trying their best to raise kids who have little money for
'treats'. It is certainly frustrating to the people of Church Farm
estate in Halewood who have told the Police they are fed up with
crime and will fund private security to police the area.(more
soon on Halewood's problems)
There are still kids in Kirkby living in terrible conditions.
Here in Kirkby, schemes meant to target vulnerable youth or children
are often not picking up on the real vulnerable ones who DO need help
- we know the Council and Police must know of kids living with heroin
and crack addicts and prostitutes and alcoholics or kids being abused
physically or sexually by the minority of lowlife who live amongst
us. A lot of the schemes set up are done so with little foresight
and there is no real genuine interaction between departments like
social services and the police and more local accountable services
and schemes which could seek out the vulnerable street by street.
The lessons of Victoria Climbie have NOT been fully learned or
addressed, and there are still kids in Kirkby living in terrible
conditions. Will these kids be going to Alton Towers? Or is it
just a few kids the local community groups picked out to fill
the numbers and justify getting more grants? One thing's for
certain - the real yobs who are robbing the elderly and throwing
fireworks at Workers, will laugh at the thought of being rewarded
if they are deemed 'socially vulnerable'. It's already a standing
joke amongst Kirkby's school-kids who seem to see through the
stupidity of this scheme. The Police have no choice but to
do what the Politicians tell them.
Below - more contenders for Alton Towers?
Last week, KHT workers called to a job in Huyton were attacked by local youth who
decided to aim fireworks at them. Below is an account taken from the
Kirkby Huyton Prescott Trades Website - All quoted is from the KHPT website.
"On Wednesday 15/10/03 at 10.15pm. the KHT call-out emergency service was
attacked at a house in the Huyton area.
Called out initially to board up a broken window, the board was
ripped off, and the house set alight by local yobs. The Fire Brigade
attended and our call-out service was once again asked to re-board
the property. Whilst they were in the process of re-boarding, the
local yobs returned on bikes and were lighting large fireworks and
throwing them at our lads working on the property, the police had
to turn up to provide protection for our members, whilst they
carried out their emergency service."
End of KHPT article.
What should we do with these lads who done this to the KHT workers?
If the police catch them that is!. Remember, these youths can and do
beat and almost kill grown men. Many older blokes will remember having
squared up to someone older at some point, but today, its like a persistent
squaring up and actual follow through as gangs of young yobs boot men to
the floor for no better reason than to prove themselves. Respect for our
elders is practically zero.
The lads in Huyton trying to blind or maim KHT
workers with what are practically bombs, are going to
be running wild on this stupid 'mischief night' - maybe
the council tax payers of Knowsley will be entitled to ask
why the hell their money is being wasted on an increasingly
bizarre number of schemes dreamt up by middle class lunatics.
This Alton Towers trip on mischief night is just one of dozens
of schemes in Knowsley which are holding out the begging bowl
for public money which YOU are paying as a tax payer. Crime
prevention used to mean the police checking the locks on local
shops at night. Now it means police taking kids out for day
trips and other activities whilst we're waiting an hour for
the police to turn up to incidents reported. To take Police
out off the beat on Mischief night is lunacy. They know it
and we know it. We can bet our last penny that someone in
Knowsley is going to need the missing Police on mischief
night. The Police will have the busiest night of the
year - but some, sadly, will be halfway up the Ferris
Wheel in Alton Towers whilst we fend off 1000 children
armed with eggs flour and no doubt a load of fireworks.
Does anyone think that's a good idea? Apart from Alton
Towers Ticket Sales Department that is?
