Music.
Below, Busker in Kirkby Town Center, donate generously to buskers.
Music is something a lot of us in Kirkby love.
There's loads of good musicians here. We want bands to submit MP3's for download and apart from the ban on Boy/Girl Bands and 'kiddie pop'
we will be featuring any music from Country and Western to Rap. Classical to Drum and Bass. We will have links to websites where you can download free music.
No 'warez' sites though, as due to the political nature of this website it would not be too long before we were shut down.
Don't worry though, we WILL include links so you can download filesharing programs. From there, you'll be able to search for most music and
a lot is out there for download. If your new to file sharing, then there will be links to guides for you.
It takes a little bit of time and effort on your behalf so be prepared to spend a few hours getting to know the ins and outs of 'filesharing' once
you have downloaded a program.
Do you play an Instrument? Maybe you don't know you can use your PC to record and mix a complete song!
We will feature links to websites which will have tutorials and all the info you need to use a PC as an Home Recording Studio.
Convert your record/CD/Cassette collection into MP3's. Then share them on the internet. Join the Kirkby Times Music Lovers Club.
Just for locals only who may have music to swap and share. Who's got the biggest MP3 Collection? Email in to be put on the mailing list. Are you still buying music? Why not buy a PC instead!
Send in your reviews Whether its Eminems Latest or a gig you saw last week in Town. There's hardly any gigs in Kirkby nowadays, remember the days of
Blue Vein?, and all the bands who played real instruments? A lot of Pubs now just have Kareoke or a disco. It would be good to have a venue in Kirkby were we could see bands and artists perform.
Any bands are welcome to have space here to promote themselves and their music. Any local musicians who need help with computer based recording etc are also welcome to email in.
Where do i get all this free music i hear everyone going on about?
Firstly ask yourself what you have to share!, you'll need to be able to 'rip' your CD's to MP3's
and then you'll be able to increase your music collection by lending CD's from friends and ripping them.
You can convert the mp3's back to CD as well which is handy!
What your best doing is down-loading Direct Connect, its a file sharing program that lets you download music
in the form of full albums, or just individual tracks. You'll need at least 5 gigabyte. the more you have to share the more you'll have access to.
Get Direct Connect here.
